What a great Italian inspired Shop. I stopped for lunch yesterday and had the chicken wings and fried peppers. Amazing food.

An unplanned stop at this great little cafe. The food we ate was utterly delicious, the lamb roll with the roast beet salad was fantastic. This is rustic food, prepared with love n creativity. I had a decaf coffee and it was the fullest flavour non caffinated option I've experienced in Oz. Will return soon.

I don’t know how or where to start with the brilliance in the kitchen and team at Ciao Thyme. Everything I’ve ordered is beyond delicious. The unique combination of ingredients and how well they work together demonstrates their mastery with all things food! I go for lunch and buy for dinner and walk away with four of their desserts. Arrive hungry and have no dinner plans for the next couple days so you can try everything on offer.

This is my favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Balmain. The ingredients are always fresh, the atmosphere is cool, and the staff is lovely. I usually come for breakfast, but this time I came for lunch, and the food was amazing - I'd rate it 100/10!

It's hard to know where to begin. I saw on social media this place in Balmain that does a Philly Cheese Steak that is next level and over $30 for one sandwich.... I think in this kind of economy it takes big balls to think you can charge that kind of money for a sandwich.... actually in any kind of economy that's a crazy price point for a sandwich.... now having said that if you don't come down here and try it you are doing yourself an injustice. I've had Philly cheese steaks everywhere including Philadelphia and this is not a Philly Cheese Steak this is above next level next level. I could talk about it for an hour and still not really get across how good it was from the little cos lettuce Cup with like a chicken Hazel nut Waldorf through to the most insane soft fluffy crunchy bread but it wouldn't do it justice. Having been in the industry all my life and owning many successful cafes walking into this place you just feel the love in everything they do. Never do you see this kind of attention to chaotic detail anymore and it looks like they just cook whatever they want and sell it on the day and if you don't want to spend $30 on a sandwich or even 18 dollars on a bacon and egg roll I guess you could save a couple of dollars and have something elsewhere that just wouldn't compare but I love the fact that they do what they do they do it well and they only Target the customers that can appreciate such quality and dedication. The only criticism I have would be the bottled barbecue sauce they serve on the side is just completely unneeded and anybody who put barbecue sauce on that sandwich would need help and also the flat white was very fluffy but that's just a little bit of tweaking on technique. Anybody with a struggling Cafe and there are plenty of them these days...needs to come here and see how it's done. I will be back to try the rest of everything. A true place where passion and creativity meet produce

I have been a regular customer for years and today I went for my weekly treats of some of their delicious home baked slices (lemon thyme being one of my faves) and something for dinner that night and was talked into (not very hard) trying one of their individual fish pies. At dinner I followed their detailed cooking instructions (all you have to do is ask) and the pie cooked perfectly in its little metal ramekin - and wow. The best fish pie I have ever tasted, full of big chunks of fresh snapper, other fish and a sublime veloute. If you haven't tried one and you are lucky enough to be there on a day when they are making them I highly recommend you do. Thank you guys so much for being the best cafe on the peninsula

Ciao Thyme is a fantastic spot. Their breakfast and lunch dishes are not only tasty but also beautifully presented. The service is super friendly, and the cafe's location on Darling Street is very handy. A great place for a meal!
